Our short video format walks you through each step of the game when you need it. No more digging through rule books to learn how to play or watching a 40-90 minute video and trying to remember what was said 20 minutes ago. You will have video walkthrough with everything from set up to victory.
The library is constantly growing, and we are also prioritizing common games you would find in your local game store. This is the perfect app to let you explore new games, without wasting your time trying to figure it out for yourself.
Game Hunter Library is a video library that works very similarly to Netflix or any other streaming service. Instead of shows, we have games. Instead of Episodes, we have short rulesets that cover everything you need, when you need it. It could be videos on how to set up a game depending on how many people you have, how movement works, drafting cards, or scoring points. It is set up so that learning a game for the first time is easy, and revisiting an old game is also a snap. No more needing to spend an hour in a rule book or watch someone talk for 50 minutes straight. Get the rules for what you need, when you need it.
I love board games. But one of biggest frustrations was how "accessible" board games are. I found myself going to my local game shop and playing games I already knew or owned because I didn't want to spend 2 of my 3 hours trying to figure it out to teach my friends or family. It just wasn't very fun. I wanted someone to teach me the rules and gameplay I needed without having to scrub through hour long "how to play" videos to find what I was looking for just to do the next step of the game. I also saw a growing "shelf of shame" of games that don't see any play time because I don't want to have to go back through the rules and re-learn/teach. Again, I just wanted the rules I needed, when I needed them. Thus, Game Hunter Library came to be. A platform that teaches how to play games in a quick, efficient manner, giving you what you need, when you need it so that you can play games immediately instead of listing to someone talk for an hour before you even get to touch your pieces. (and forget 90% of what they said anyway)
Other "How to Play" video series do a great job for showing a walkthrough of a game. They are not great for actually getting a game on the table and being played in a quick manner. With our short videos of independant rules, set ups, how to score, etc. we get the game onto the table and being played almost instantly, reducing the downtime of learning and maximizing the enjoyment of everyone at the table so you can spend more time doing what you & your group set out to do. Playing games.
Great question! There are more games out than we can possibly get to. (And more come out every year!) While we do our best to continuosly add to Game Hunter Library, we will listen to our members on games they would like to have added and see if we can make any of those a priority. Game publishers can also contact us about having their games in Game Hunter Library as well and gain priority access.
